ok ok ok i know from the start i definitely shouldn't start this thread, being this is the SSFG forum, buuuuuut im scared of the meanies in the road forums, and you guys have been cool to me so far, so what the hell, here it goes....

Remember the "road bike with fixed gear style" thread?

well, that inspired me in my next build project.


I have built a fixed gear bike, a 700c coaster brake bike....and now that i have this centurion accordo frame sitting around....

...i think now i want to build a 7 or 8 speed road bike with some street-track aesthetics and feel....basically, this frame, track crankset, cassette in back, nitto bullhorns with barend brake levers and either a thumb shifter by the stem or perhaps clamp on downtube shifter.


NOW, to my question at hand....

any of you aware of a nice wheelset 200 or below that takes a common shimano cassette and has a sort of velocity deep V-esque aesthetic? any specific make/model i should be aware of? any shops/ebay sellers/online stores you have bought from you could point in their direction? \
etc.

i will say the spacing width between the dropouts is 126, although i hear stretching it to 130 is no biggie. i bought the frame for 40 dollars so i dont mind futzing things a bit.


anywho, i feel like a jerk asking these questions and you are all more than welcome to flame me for doing so. BUT if i get a little info out of it then the thread was a success!


oh and please dont think i havn't done ANY research....i have, albeit not too much lol, but it seems everything i find is moreso roadie aesthetic...oh and im sure someone will flame me for going for a certain look, thats fine, i probably deserve it ;p
