Thanks guys for the replies. This is my first road bike (and first bike that cost over 200...) so the parts are quite new to me. I'm the kind of person who will spend hours solving these types of problems, but like I've mentioned before, I really don't know what is 'perfect'. I understand the basic concept of how the derailleurs work and such, but figured since it is my first bike, I should probably just let an experienced lbs employee take a look at it so I know what is the normal feel to it. I took it out for a twenty minute ride around my neighborhood and it shifts fine, but maybe once every ~10 times I shift it just doesn't catch a higher cog and I have to hold the shifter until it shifts. It's something that I could easily deal with, but would rather not have such a problem. Also, it just feels a bit safer to know that someone who understands bikes can set it for the first time.
I guess I'll take it to the local bike shop and have them take a look at it in the next few days. So from what I have read in the posts above, approx 10-20 dollars for just the front derailleur?
