However, I know out here on our little rustic island without electricity or mordern plumbing, seeing one of the 20 on the whole island that rides fixed, we all know each other, or since plently of them work in bike shops, get to know the new ones. Out here, we really are a community. We do group rides and invite any SS or fixie riders we meet, if they don't want to hang out, we won't cry about it. Most do hang out though. If I see a messenger, since there are only 10 out here(only the boss rides fixed) we always give each other some kind of acknowledgement, because most people out here a triathaletes who don't play in traffic. I respect their time and just figure I'll see them another time. Its about the bike I figure, not the tea party you want everyone to show up to, sometimes it just works out that way.
