It depends on how your have your bars set up. If you use the aerobars to get truly aero, with your back parallel to the ground, elbows as close together as they can, and forearms straight, then the aero advantage is definitely noticeable. More so than any other addition to the bike. But that position is quite different from a normal road position and takes time and practice to use properly.
