It's pretty amazing, and somewhat annoying, how flat it is. The only reason I even get that much elevation gain is from the river being so close, too.

Two weeks ago I did a 72 mile ride from the house and literally the total real elevation gain was 108 ft. That was mostly from taking two bridges over the Brazos river and a few smaller ones over creeks.

We have to go about 60-90 miles to the north or northwest to start getting gentle rolling hills. Real hills don't show up until you get to the central part of the state near Austin.

I love hills, too. One day I'll move!
