This style of fit seems to be in conflict with some of the "norms" I see here.... A couple of weeks ago, I was talking to a friend who was a college crosscountry runner and swimmer, now Cat I rider and sponsored triathlete. I described my fit and his response was, "Of course you set it up that way. You are a runner. Runners want more extension and to get there legs under them."
Considering the huge variety of runners (both in terms of physical shape and involvement), I'd be a bit surprised if most runners wound up using the same types of fit.
For example, after a few years of cycling I tried my hand at running, and did a few weeks of training and a half marathon. I felt no sudden urge to change my bike fit.
However, your friend is correct in one respect, namely that a tri / TT type position does utilize muscle groups that are often better developed in runners. This happens to be a fit that also suits the solo riding style and process of tris and duathlons.
Whether this influences what you like to feel in terms of fit, I'm not so sure. E.g. if a runner-cyclist doesn't like to put a lot of weight on their hands, they are less likely to want the saddle forward.
