126mm Dropout Options

I want to put a set of Easton EA50's on my
Raleigh Technium, but the rear dropout spacing on my
bike is 126mm, I believe. The spacing for the EA50's is 130. I've been advised, by my LBS,
against spreading my chromo stays, because the lug at the BB, though steel, is thermal bonded
to aluminum maintubes.
Right now, I run a six-speed freewheel on a Specialized sealed hub, w/ 32H Sun CR18, and
am looking for something both faster and lighter.
What are my options for a wheel-hub-cassette upgrade, taking into consideration my present
dropout space width? (I believe some Techniums had 7-speed rears with the same dropout width.
I don't know if they were the "narrow" type of cluster).
