Had I not worn a helmet or if the helmet had been an inferior design that did not absorb the impact as effectively, then my injuries would have been more severe, possibly fatal. Unless the cork helmet is tested scientifically and demonstrated to have comparable impact absorbing capabilities as engineered foam, then it's no better protection than riding helmetless, except that maybe it'll save your scalp and allow for an open casket funeral.
well my lifetime goal is to have an open casket funeral. i'll have to pick up one of those cork helmets.
