They Used an Epoxy to bond things together I think. the tube sleeves over the lug, thats the alignment
the epoxy fills the thin gap. thats what brazing stuff does too , just the molten metal gets hot first.

Epoxy gets hot chemically and is pretty permanent , if sometimes brittle..
