+1 Just got back from ACA's Cycle Vermont trip. They suggested some sort of bag. I didn't bother. If there was something I needed to shed en route, I gave it to the support vehicle at the lunch or water stops. They were also very good about picking up beer and wine if we were going to be camping in an out of the way place.
