If it's the stock steel fork, and it's really out of whack, you can bend it back into a relative, proper shape.

A little tip I picked up from hockey players that bend their ice skate blades. The trailer hitch inlet of a pick up truck offers a place to insert the fork blade for leverage. Again, dire circumstances.
