Things I learned on my ride tonight...

1. While my new Cateye light is bright, it doesn't let you see every sharp metal object in the road.
2. Said sharp metal object can cause rapid decompression of a bike tire.
3. It's always good to carry a spare tube.
4. When no tube is available, I can walk at a steady pace of 3 mph while pushing my bike.
5. I can ride a bike with a flat rear tire at a steady 10 miles an hour.
6. It's better to be 5 miles from home with a flat than 20.
