Just did a similar swap myself this afternoon (one bike DT shifter, the other STI): I just swapped wheels, cassette, and shifters. Derailleurs, cranks, and chains were all compatible, so I left them alone. The only reason I swapped wheels is that kept the better wheels with the STI group. As long as the number of speeds are the same, and everything is Shimano, the only thing you really need to switch are the shifters and brake levers.
The 2300 is an 8 spd and the Master is a 7, so does that mean that along with the shifters and brake levers;The chain, the RD (both are 600 TC) and cassettes need to be swapped?
Can I just swap wheelsets instead of the cassetes? Will I run into spacing issues between the drop-outs?
