Thanks for the post Bob. My bikes run through the gears like yours do(I believe). I weigh about 160. They have great low end torque on the flat, but maybe they are defective. Paco is sending me another one, but at this point I am not confident that I won't burn up the next.

You may have a point about the batteries for a 6 HP motor.
