Like I said, I haven't noticed a change in the cut in a number of rides, and at this point I don't think that the pressure of the tube will force it to protrude through the damaged area. The only risk I see for now is another flat tire.

My experience is that through flexing of the tire the hole will become larger, then a small portion of the tube will protrude through and wear out or pop. Booting it will prevent it for a while.
