I vote that you NEVER ride with a group again until you are mature enough to consider everyone else. You knew where everyone was behind you but you stuck to what you wanted to do based on your "principles" and damn everyone else.

If you were riding on your own then you only have yourself to consider and you take your own risks. I myself have done a similar thing where I consider the road is too narrow with a blind curve so I take the whole road in order to stop drivers trying to squeeze past me and into oncoming traffic but I only do it for about 200m and then pull over as soon as I can.

In your situation the car had already slowed down so the risk was far less and you really SHOULD have pulled over to let it pass therefore reducing the risk to the others. You didn't care about the risk to the others, you stuck to your guns and now you want us to back you up.

In this situation you did the wrong thing. Don't ride with others risking their lives until you sort it out. What you do on your own is for you. When in a group you need to follow group rules.
