So, it's not NEW... i got a bike from my dad... it is a 58cm specialized. I also got my hands on a 0 offset seat post, and have been trying it out on my current bike and my 'borrowed' bike (64cm).
Originally for my tri in september i had put aero bars on my handle bars, lowered them a bit and pushed my seat forward as far as it'd go and up a bit to compensate... it has been sufficient... definately more aero than not having the setup.
Now, on the other hand, i have a bit smaller bike, the borrowed one (58.5 TT vs 61.0cmTT), and i must say it feels different, but not in a bad way. I have attached a video of my positioning. I now understand the difference of opening the hip angle with a 0 offset or forward seat post.
Please let me know which you would choose... i have one in my head that is the current leader, but will have to ride each more to decide. I have been doing a weekly 15mi time trial which i will ride tomorrow to help prepare for the individual aspect of cycling my first tri (no drafting).
