Yesterday’s Bike Psycho event along the Illinois river was the hottest & windiest Century ride I'll ever "enjoy."

The first 60 miles were fast, I rode the first 32 miles to the Marseilles rest stop in 1:35 minutes. I rode most of that section with KHS_Flite_1000, Bill is a strong rider capable of a 20+ mph over large distances. I knew the afternoon would be hot, so I stayed on the 100 mile route, and skipped the Matthiessen SAG stop. I began to feel the heat while passing through Ottawa on the return trip. I took long, lazy breaks at Marseilles SAG stop and the last SAG stop near Morris. Staying motivated was the biggest challenge. The body was in good operational order, but I had to fight the urge to just rest in the shade.

I got back to the car at 1:40pm. I don't know how the 200k cyclist lasted the afternoon. Yesterday was the hottest day of the year. 90f+ temps under a sunny sky began well before noon.
