That's a very inspiring story! It's almost as if it was written by/about me. I just got a bike a couple weeks ago, and struggled to get 4 miles per ride (often times only half of that). Now my longest ride is almost 9 miles, and averaging about 25-30 miles per week (not much by most standards, but it's a start).
I also have type 2 diabetes, and have noticed a significant change in my blood sugar readings since starting to ride. I started out at 237 lbs. and am now down to 231 in only 2 weeks.
Keep up the great work! It's nice to see that someone in a similar situation has made the change, and is able to stick with it. It makes me want to do even better.
