I believe the rear hub has to be Hyperglide (I think the Shimano website has some info on this). As far as the spacer for the casette, I'm sure the bike shop will take care of that when they do the work. It was never addressed when I brought in my bike and the box of parts to the LBS.
All of this has already been addressed. But one more time.... He has a HG hub,therefore no issue. The 1mm spacer comes in the box with the 10 speed cassette,therefo no issue, and nothing to address.
