Many road shoes now, especially with carbon soles, only have the 3-hole Look pattern and don't have the 2-hole SPD mount. You better check your shoes first. If you want a SPD pedal with a platform you will need the 2-hole mount. For instance something like this:
The Shimano 105 and Look pedals are not SPD and platform like you requested.
That's what I was talking about!! I've had them on a used Allez I bought, and actually enjoyed riding on them....for a week
