They want to be an ex-smoker more than they want the next cigarette, they want to be faster more than they want to stay in bed instead of going training, and so on. They aren't stronger or more virtuous than the people who don't do these things - though some of them are vain enough to think so - they just want different things. We do what we want - then, after the event, we come up with an explanation of why what we wanted was the right thing to do.
You're geniusneess is inspiring.
What do you call the drive/determination/will/ to push through pain or discomfort on a bike ride/race???
Personally, I LIKE working out.
I LIKE being in control of my diet and putting good fuel into my tank.
I like pushing myself to be a better person.
I like to learn, and be inspired.
I understand that I have chosen a more difficult path.
But I want to excel, to be better.
There IS something that separates the doers from the people that merely watch us on television.
