I don't believe that I did say that, but I can certainly see why you'd project an unreasonable assumption of infallibility on anyone who disagrees with you - it's a common trait of mentally incompetent individuals.

, but further up in this thread you asserted that skinny tires actually have more rolling resistance, for reasons I presume you are familiar with. If so, why then would they not brake better ? Get out the research reference.
I already have. You just weren't smart enough to understand it. Braking is created by the friction between a tyre and the road when a tyre is slowed down by the the brakes; rolling resistance is hysteresis energy - ie the energy it takes to flex a tyre to constantly re-create the contact patch as it rolls. As I already told you rolling resistance is NOT the result of friction between a tyre and the road!* A tyre can have very high friction and very low RR - and good tyres do. Such tyres also cost several times more than mediocre ones; ask the people here who ride Marathon Supremes.

I doubt that you'll be smart enough to understand these docs, but what the hell- here's a detailed explanation of how you have made an idiot of yourself from one of the world's best and most obsessive (they're German!) tyre companies:

http://www.schwalbetires.com/tech_in...ing_resistance

www.schwalbetires.com/wider_faster_page

You can also find online tyre tests (taken from the German magazine "Tour" usually) that measure braking and cornering grip/friction and RR. Lower RR and higher friction is a common combination (usually in conjunction with higher cost!)

*Once again, the point of a wheel is to eliminate friction with the road as a source of resistance - by rolling. I know that you're not the brightest of bulbs, but haven't you ever noticed that your bicycle moves better with the brakes off so the wheel can roll, instead of with them on so that it can't??? Doesn't this spark any thought in you?

But thanks for the question: after having to stay up until 3am to take a call from NY it's nice to end the day with some comedy - I will admit that I popped hoping you'd have made a post like this.
