I wouldn't feel comfortable even trying to join unless I knew I could keep up.

Thanks!
I just mapped out a 30 mile route that I'll pass by my local buddies, get their feed back, adjust accordingly, and then send to everyone and post here. My hope is we go at a very leisurely pace, say average about 10 mph. I've planned some stops for us to regather as we get spread out from place to place. I'm a slow poke up the hills as I have a good bit of extra weight to carry.

The goal is to:

1- Enjoy each others company
2- Enjoy the sights and take some pictures
3- Get to know each other better
4- Possibly trade some parts

Pretty simple. Nothing competitive.

BF won't allow me to reply to a PM until I reach 50 posts. one post closer I guess.
I've added you to my list. Watch for an organizational email later this week.

Hmm, wife finally read the thread, and is thinking of joining. That means I might have to figure out how to get another bike going here.
Great! We need more women to join us!

27X1 tires should be fine. I ride tires which vary from 27X1, 700cX23mm, to 26X1.75 MTB street tires. They all do fine.

We do have some rough roads and the scenic route I'm planning includes some "paved double track" (as supton calls them) and about 1 & 1/2 miles of a dirt road if it has not been graded in the past week. I ride my vintage Schwinn road bikes on these all the time and have not experienced any challenges.

Hope you can join us! Send me your email address.
