Tufo's are great tires, well worth trying if you haven't already. I ride the C Elite Road and find them to be very responsive and fairly tough. Certainly tougher than the Michelin Pro Race I used to ride. But both of these tires are more race oriented tires than race/training tires and for the streets you are describing, I would think something a little more durable would be better.

Like the Tufo S33 or the Michelin Carbon.
