basically, i had the spdsl for about 7 months, and once i went to a higher gearing, they started popping out. this was with brand new 0 float and hte normal cleats (tried both), and tension all the way up.
so, id like to buy a new set of pedals, around 100.00 all in that wont pop out when i slow hard, or skid, or pull up to hard when pedaling.

You didn't tighten the tension on your SPD SL pedals. From the factory they are set to the very lightest setting. Put them at least to the middle of the tension range.
