Hill repeats. Lots of them. Go find a hill that takes five ( or ten ) minutes to climb, and do laps for an hour, every other day. You'll hate me for a while, but eventually the climb will take a lot less out of you.

If you do repeats ( or intervals, or whatever else gets recommended ) get enough protein to keep those leg muscles fresh. I say that, because you could do the hills for months...
