I used to ride centuries in the 80s on bikes that were not much better (hi-ten, crap saddles, crap pedals, etc). If you die from riding 20 miles on a Draft, ask papa to take the pea out from under your stack of goose-down filled, plump, satin mattresses.

To the OP, go ahead and upgrade your saddle, handlebars, brake and then port those upgrades to your next build/BD bike or whatever. If your pedals are truly breaking, get some cheap BMX pedals as I believe that is what the Draft cranks accept.
