Being somewhat new to the fitness thing how important is a recovery drink after exercises anyway? I normally get out and ride 1 - 1 1/2 hours every day. I am mainly trying to loose weight and get fit so is this something I should incorporate into my routine as well?

I'd say try the low fat chocolate milk, or maybe a protein shake made with water.
You don't want to replace all the calories you just burned!
