Funny story...one of the last races I did was the Sun Tour support crit around St Kilda Rd, Botanical Gardens in 1998. He won it that year as a 17 yo, I think. Incredible power.

Reckons when the Labrats were struggling to find the next generation of elite riders in the mid-90s, he sent the call out to all the regional coaches in Victoria to send in ANY kids that had a bit of talent for ID testing. Two names rose to the top.... Brett Lancaster and Baden Cooke.
