Pinched tube. At least it blew up while you were pumping. I inflated a tube in my house and rode down my driveway yesterday. As soon as I started I heard the sound of uneven wheel where the tire wasn't quite seated right. Before I could unclip and release the pressure on the tube, it blew up. Of course half of my neighbors were all outside.
