I know you said you didn't want to spend the cash for PBP's but I could not remember the height difference between the MA-2 and the PBP, so last night I measured the two.

The MA-2, typical of the better vintage rims, is 0.5" tall. The PBP is 0.8" tall. That 0.3" difference represents a rim that is 60% taller and is readily picked up by the eye.

Still, the PBP is about as good as it gets.

I don't have the Sun M13II, so I cannot measure it.
