The Renyolds decal will be on the left fork blade, the TDF or Super Corsa one on the right. Doesn't make sense to me either, but that's how they did it. That sure looks like the TDF decal in the added scan. All the TDFs I've seen were Simplex, and as skyrocker points out the RD is Huret. Lots of things can happen to a bike over 40 years, and Gitane was known for using what was on hand rather than what the build sheet called for.
And I agree with devinfan, the 531 Gitanes are GREAT riders.
