I'm not sure which I enjoy more. In the summer, I can do my wrenching outside, and the kids watch, help, or play. When I ride, I either have to leave at least some of the kids with my wife, or else take them with me. I like riding with the kids, but there are some roads I won't take them on. They do encourage me to be leisurely, which is not a bad thing. I can take three of them when I ride the tandem with a trailer. The other two usually want to come along, and they ride their own bikes. The tandem still helps make things easier, because there's less squabbling about who goes in front of whom. Most of my recreational riding is not done alone.
