I true my own wheels. You get better with practice. I don't understand the comment of "too much work" because I find it very gratifying.

I've heard bad stories of using quick oil change places. In fact, I had one myself. It's easy to do an oil change right, but it's even easier to do it wrong. The technicians there are usually not very experienced or supervised. I pay my mechanic for oil changes. He looks for things, proactively. It's worth the extra money.
