I think this qualifies as a Frankenbike:







So, it's a (we think) Lejeune Champ du Monde frame with Reynolds 531 steel and Campy dropouts. It should have come with either Nuovo Record or Super Record, but I was too cheap to build a groupset out of that. Instead, I went with functional and decided on a late-80's Suntour Superbe Pro groupset. It includes the hidden-spring brakes, shifters, derailleurs and levers. I kept the original Stronglight 93 crank and bottom bracket. Wheels are Mavic MA40's with Normandy high-flange hubs.

It may not be pretty and I know the parts are an eclectic mix, but this is at or near the top of my short list of fantastic-riding bikes I've owned. I think it is actually my second favorite...if it were 2cm smaller, it would be my favorite
