Check out any of the Track Line of shoes/ boots from Ecco http://www.eccousa.com/shoes/mens/ou.../2/detail.aspx. They are a bit pricey, but will last for a VERY long time. In the past 12 years I have owned three pairs (still have two) for daily use as a work boot and they are extremely comfortable and waterproof. I don't work for Ecco, just love their products.
