The truth is more elusive. You missed the number 1 reason... it is the easiest part of racing. Everything else about racing is very hard to do. I am also relieved that you approved some of the reasons and gave clarity to others.

I competed in masters track nationals last week and can report that i did not see any hairy legs on the podium for men or women and in fact, no hairy legs at all. Disclaimer, I did not inspect everyone except for the women.
