Eh, I can't go the 24 miles to Idaho Springs to taste some delicious Beaujos pie at the original Beaujos restaurant without riding a few miles on I-70... The only other alternate route from Golden goes through two tunnels which bicyclists aren't allowed through.

I would have to go way up north and come through Blackhawk... Oh wait, I can't because cyclists aren't allowed through Blackhawk to Central City (an entirely different note)

I could go south and come through Squaw pass but that's just a crazy long detour... thought it might make an interesting ride.
