HR started a competition at work called Tour de (work name).Runners, walkers, kayakers and bikers did the most miles they could in a week, tallied them up and turned them in at the beginning of the next week. Commuting, Mon. and Wed. night rides, Sun. morning rides, high heat and humidity just gave me the blahs.

I know, I know, STFU and ride. I will. Eventually.
I just burned out on swimming... it can happen with any activity. I've been swimming competitively since high school... some 36 years ago... I go into Masters programs, train for some race, then hit the race and wind down... I get tired, lose motivation... then the season ends and I do something else.

Same with cycling... I go through phases... commuting, touring, and just fun rides. But again I get tired and lose motivation... (I could never be a pro athlete... it would drive me nuts having to constantly self motivate... arrg.)

As others here have mentioned... find some other distraction... you'll want to get back to biking soon enough. Do something different... like mountain biking. Or set a goal... train for a trip.

For me, switching between cycling and swimming tend to work. (PS, I hate running)
