Brooks are well known not only for their somewhat odd position (nose tilted slightly up, saddle further back to avoid sitting on the rivets) but also for having a pretty small "sweet spot." I've heard anecdotes that one notch of adjustment can be the difference between numbness and total bliss.
Perfectly said. I love my Brooks but they are fussy. Don't put a level on it and expect it to fit. You really need to adjust the tip up just a bit. I'm switching seat posts because my Thompson's don't have any set back.
