I've ridden similar Shimano's Ultegras for the last three years. Definitely prefer Shimano's to Forte' or Look/Keo. Better fit, and I like their three point cleats. And if you're competing (which I don't), I imagine the bigger platform gives you a firmer connection to your bike. However, I find that Shimano's PD-M540 SPD MTB is nicer for fun and exercise for several reasons: greater float, double sided, more adjustable, plus you almost walk normal in the shoes.
