I would not spend money on a brand new bike that is guaranteed not to fit me. You and the other rider are simply two different sizes. If you're completely intent on riding the same bike (Don't ever want to go on rides together? I hope we're not talking about a married couple.) then get something cheap on craigslist before you drop a grand on a bike neither of you will fit.
