Tour de Fair Haven in NJ today. We had 95(!) starters (3/4) on an 8 turn 3 mile circuit race. Was a pretty tough pace I thought. I think the biggest issue was going from 30mph to 15mph on every damn corner. Overall, stuck with the pack the whole time but did not want to get involved in the sprint. I had originally planned on trying to make a go of it going into the first turn of 4 quick turns before the straight away (probably 1 mile and chain from the finish) but lost my chain. Got back up and had not much left.
I was there too, IIRC you race for Westwood? The 95 starters on that course was absurd. It would have been a fun race if there was no yellow line rule or there were more like 50 racers.
I ended up top 20, passing a couple dozen people in the sprint, I literally could not move up during the race with so many people in the field.
My first race as a 3, not what I was looking for.
