my '89 waterford paramount has what I was told "first generation DA 8spd STI", same as yours I think. My DA kit is probably '90. My paramount is also the first year schwinn used oversized (OS) tubing for the paramounts. Your univega OS / Dura ace bike makes me wonder if they (univega) were reacting to the schwinn intro of OS, or maybe to part of the race end of the bike market at large in the early 90s.
