On Saturday I was riding and I had to pull over because of sweat in my eyes. I wiped the forehead, clipped back in, and started to push forward when I started feeling a stinging sensation on my back!
The road didn't have a shoulder so I had to pedal through to the next driveway to pull off. Meanwhile, I'm still feeling something crawling around back there.
I got off the road and tried to intervene. Of course it's easier said than done. I have to take off my helmet/glasses to disrobe. Something is still trying to sting me.
I finally got where I could rip the jersey off, and yet the process of removing it pushed the stinging insect deeper into my flesh. Oh, the irony.
I shook whatever it was off me. I never did see what it was. It wasn't a major sting like a bee or wasp, yet it was more than a bug. Perhaps it was a baby bee.
After taking a few seconds to regain my composure, I HTFU and rode on.
I can still feel a bump where it bit me.
THE END.
