I understand your hygiene concerns. The trick is to stay clean. My routine has been to take a shower at night after the commute home then take a shower at work. Rinse, repeat. If I didn't commute that day I take a shower at nigh anyways. It also helps a lot to find a place to let your bike knicks/underwear air dry. IF you keep em in a place where it doesn't dry up then bacteria will grow causing the ickiness.
