The navel-gazing effort of trying to define ourselves if we rarely use cars -- but occasionally borrow one from our sister -- seems to me rather pointless.

There would be much more value in leading lives that helped ourselves reduce our personal car dependence and in demonstrating our capability to others (and encouraging them to join us).
