NYC Morning Commute: Commuting by Bicycle from Jackson Heights, Queens to Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan.

Beautiful ride in this morning. I bought a bike in March, and started commuting daily by April. I've been meaning to bring my camera along for a long time, but finally did this morning. About 6.5 miles on the first day of autumn. 65º, low humidity, clear and sunny.

Bike lanes and marked sharrows all through Queens, and slow street traffic in Manhattan. New construction in Queens Plaza finally about to build a safe bike approach to the Queensboro Bridge - though construction has temporarily made a chaotic crossroads even worse. Traffic was a mess and ultimately had to take a detour on Manhattan's East Side for road closures because of the President's visit to the UN. I'll try to photograph that part of town on another day.
