well, now i was able to get both ourys on without issue, even with brake cable running underneath. one i used soapy water, the other i used wd40.
i tend to listen to scrod's word since he i believe is/was a bike mechanic....

so scrod, you said using wd40, once its on it stays on? so are you saying it acts as lubrication first, then somehow acts as adhesion?

that is what i gathered when you said " I've always used WD40. Once it sets, those grips aren't going anywhere."
how long would you say it takes to set?

yesterday i sprayed a little wd40 underneath the oury i used soapy water to get on, thinking it would set and make the oury adhere to the bar, but it still is kind of slippy.
the one i used only wd40 with i just did today a little while ago during lunch break.

now that i have these guys on, i want them stuck in place without moving. if wd40 dosn't do the trick, anyone have any advise in getting them to stick solidly without slipping around, even with brake cable underneath? im thinking this stuff called spray mount. i have those thin little red straws that come with wd40 and was thinking of using them to stick in the nozzle of some spray mount so i can shove the little straw in between the oury and the handlebar and spray some of that adhesive. i dunno.
